(AP Photo/Charlie Neibergall) Republican State Senator Bill Anderson of Pierson, will serve as the new commerce committee chairman when the Iowa Senate convenes in January.He has spent the last five years as the ranking member of the Senate commerce committee.Anderson was first elected to the Iowa Senate in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.The Senate Commerce Committee consists of 15 members and oversees legislation relating to the regulation of energy, banks, insurance, utilities, real estate, credit unions, and the sale of alcoholic beverages in Iowa.last_img
