‘Some people trying to destroy Goa’s harmony’

first_imgPanaji: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar cautioned citizens on Friday that “some people” were trying to destroy the State’s communal harmony. Speaking informally to reporters at his ancestral home in Parra in North Coastal Goa, Mr. Parrikar said Ganesh Chaturthi was a festival for people of all religions in the State. He said Catholics visit Hindus on Ganesh festival and Hindus visit Catholic homes on Christmas daya. Mr. Parrikar said, “In spite of a lot of efforts to destroy it (communal harmony) by some people, by trying to divide the society on communal lines, I think people know very well (how to maintain it).”last_img
