Aspiring CA held from Churu for creating fake website

first_imgNew Delhi: An aspiring Charted Accountant was arrested from Churu, Rajasthan for creating a fake website in the name of “Modi-laptop” and “free-solar-panel”. The investigating agency said that the website induced people to download an App, thus leading to an earning of Rs six per download for the accused. Police identified the accused as Rohit, a B. Com.graduate and is aspiring to become a Chartered Accountant. He was arrested from Sujangarh, District Churu, Rajasthan. Data was being collected in the name of registration on this website. Adsense is a program that allows bloggers and website owners to make money by displaying Google ads. “Within a couple of years, without putting much effort, the accused managed to make around Rs. 6-7 lakh just by blogging on mobile phones and on applications.” “The accused disclosed that he wanted to take advantage of the fact that fake and bogus advertisements of free laptops and solar panels from the government would draw a lot of internet traffic,” said DCP CyPAD. Police said that the accused thus created a website having a domain name that gave a false impression of being a government website and offered free solar panels and free laptops. The accused also induced people to sign up using their personal data, which also he intended to capture for illegal monetary gains in the future.
