Lisa Haydon turns Sanjay Dutt’s item girl for Bollywood stardom

first_imgWhen everything else fails, do an item dance. This is an age-old Bollywood mantra that starlets still swear by. So it’s no wonder that hotshot model Lisa Haydon too has taken recourse to this formula, what with her career in Hindi films headed nowhere. After a dud debut in last year’s Aisha, Lisa will be seen shaking her booty with Sanjay Dutt in the song Shake it Saiyaan in David Dhawan’s upcoming slapstick, Rascals. The number, aired in the early promos of the film, has already generated substantial buzz.Although Lisa also has a small role in Rascals, the entire limelight so far has been hijacked by the film’s heavy duty cast comprising Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Kangna Ranaut and Arjun Rampal, leaving no room for her in the publicity campaign of this year’s big Dusshera release.Beyond Ajay and Sanjay’s comic chemistry in the trailers, Rascals has mostly been in the news for Kangna’s scorching bikini sequence in the film. “Lisa would have gone unnoticed in the promos but for the item dance. She has a role in the film too, although the makers are not willing to give out details yet,” said a source.Lisa, born to a Malayali father and an Australian mother, made waves with her supporting act in Aisha, despite the film tanking at the box-office. She now hopes Shake it Saiyaan creates some magic in her career.Rascals , opening on October 6, marks the return of David Dhawan as director after his 2009 dud, Do Knot Disturb. Rumours suggest the film is based on the Hollywood hit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which has already been rehashed in Bollywood by way of Rakesh Roshan’s Khel in 1992.While on Lisa, she made her mark scorching the ramp at various fashion weeks besides modelling for a leading cosmetics brand. She has also been featured as cover girl for major magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Verve, Elle and FHM. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who has also trained with Shiamak Davar for five years.advertisementlast_img read more
